I believe in God

elieve in God. There is enough evidence in the complexity of life and the physical world to convince me there is a Creator God, and He loves me as a child of His creation. I believe that the love I have for my parents, children, and others is a pale reflection of God's love for his created beings, but sufficient to demonstrate how God loves me. The wonder and awe that I feel in the presence of God's handiwork, majestic landscapes, the ocean, and what I see in my own children, also convinces me that God put a place in my heart for worship; to desire communion with Him and to do acts of worship.

Something Bigger.

It seems to me, that when men give up on God, they give up on themselves. When they stop believing there is something bigger, they become that much smaller. For it seems that mankind was made to worship. Most every culture worships something, although not always something good, and most everybody worships something, although not always something good. When we give up on God, certainly God does not give up on us. I think he grieves for our loss, and His, that one of his children will not be the prodigal coming home, but the lost and wayward child that wastes their inheritance, and is now living in squalor with the pigs. No longer tasting of the good life, but only wishing things would get better without realizing they really can be.

I’m surprised sometimes with the vehement rhetoric from self-proclaimed atheists. Granted, I’m also surprised sometimes at the vehement rhetoric from self-proclaimed Christians. At least with Christians, I can always look at the rule book to get back to basics and know where I belong.  With atheists, it doesn’t always seem like they’re moderate in that everyone should be free to believe whatever they want – but people should believe like the atheists to be enlightened. So as long as we’re searching for the truth, we are heralded as sojourners on the road of life, but if we ever actually find the truth, we’re derided as zealots.

So it seems to me…

Sunday is Pi day -- that's just irrational!

How awesome is that? We celebrate an irrational number on Albert
Einstein's birthday. I will be having a moon pie in honor of both!
When is moonpie day?

Remington 870 or Mossberg 500?
